Probation Peeps Probe Lindsay Lohan Ankle Monitor Equipment Failure

Lindsay Lohan's electronic monitoring ankle bracelet went off Tuesday. Shocker, we know. But it turns out it may have just been a faulty apparatus.
The monitor indicated she left the house and therefore violated the terms of her house arrest ... but when officials checked on her, she was home.
Probation staffers went to Lindsay's Venice house, only to find the troubled star up on the roof of the building sunning herself and reading scripts.

A source says it looks like the device may have "missed a signal," in other words Lohan didn't leave the house and therefore violate any rules.
The probation department has not formally closed the matter, but one source close to the case says that already "it looks like it's been resolved."
